Set the refund ladder
The Policies tab holds one thing: the Cancellation & refund policy - a ladder of rules, each saying cancel at least this many hours before check-in, get this much back. It is printed on every quotation for this property, so each property can sell under its own terms.
-
Open the property’s Policies tab.
-
Set the Section heading - what the section is called on the document.
-
Build the rules. Each row reads “Cancel at least … hours before check-in → … % refund”. Click Add a rule for more rungs (up to six - guests do not read more than that).
-
Check the “What the guest reads” preview underneath. It renders the exact sentences the quotation will print, in ladder order - longest notice first.
-
Optionally add Additional notes (printed under the rules, in your own words - e.g. “Refunds are processed within 7 working days”), then Save.
The rules the editor enforces
Section titled “The rules the editor enforces”The editor validates the ladder as you type, with the same checks the server runs:
- A rule at 0 hours is required. Without it the policy says nothing about a last-minute cancellation - the case a cancelling guest is most likely to be in.
- A later cancellation can never refund more than an earlier one - guests would simply wait.
- No two rules may use the same number of hours - the guest would be promised two different refunds at once.
