Direct bookings vs Airbnb bookings

Screens /channels · /site · Roles: Admin

Stay N Host treats a booking from your own website or WhatsApp and a booking from Airbnb as the same object. The differences that matter are commercial, not operational - which is the whole argument for growing the direct side.

  • The calendar. Every night of every unit can be sold exactly once, whichever side sold it. A direct booking blocks Airbnb; an Airbnb booking blocks your site’s search.
  • The verification flow. Payment proof and ID checks run the same way for both, and the same gates (payment ✓ and ID ✓) protect the lock-code release either way.
  • The books. Both kinds post into the same double-entry ledger, the same reports, the same owner statements.
  • The guest experience during the stay. Both guests get the same guest app.
Direct Airbnb
Commission None The channel’s cut
Guest relationship Yours - their contact details, your terms Mediated by the channel
Payment Your own payment channels, verified by your team Handled per your Airbnb setup
Changes & cancellations You decide, in your own flow Channel events; money-touching ones are held for review
Some actions Fully in Stay N Host Accepting a request or an alteration finishes on Airbnb itself

The repeat guest is the direct channel’s natural customer: they already trust you, so the booking website plus a WhatsApp conversation gives them a commission-free way back. Quotation links from your inquiry flow and the website’s availability search are the two front doors; both end in the same verified, ledgered booking.
