Read the conversion funnel

The Conversion card at the top of Reservations -> Inquiries answers one question: of the inquiries created in a window, how far did each one get? Every band and every drop-off is clickable, so a number on the chart is always one click from the inquiries behind it.

The Conversion card on the Inquiries stage: the 7d, 30d and 90d window control, the five bands from Received to Converted, the named drop-offs, and the Reached chip above the list after a band was clicked

The 7d, 30d and 90d control on the card sets the cohort: the inquiries created in the last 7, 30 or 90 days (30 by default). The subtitle states it, for example “42 inquiries from the last 30 days, by how far they got”.

Five bands, each counting the inquiries that got at least that far:

Band Reached when
Received The inquiry was created. Always the whole cohort.
Quoted A quote was saved.
Payment requested The advance was marked as requested.
Locked A payment proof took a hold on a unit.
Converted The payment was verified and it became a booking. A complimentary stay counts here too.

Because an inquiry that reached Locked also reached Quoted, the bands only ever narrow, and the gap between two bands is a real drop-off. An inquiry keeps credit for the furthest stage it reached even if it was later rejected or expired.

Between the bands, the drop-offs are named for what went wrong rather than for where it stopped:

  • No quote sent - received, never quoted.
  • Quote unanswered - quoted, payment never requested.
  • Payment request ignored - payment requested, no proof arrived.
  • Hold expired before verification - locked, but nobody verified the money in time (see the two-hour hold).
  1. Click a band to list the inquiries that reached it, or click a drop-off to list the ones that stopped there.

  2. Read the chip above the list: Reached Quoted or Stopped: Quote unanswered, with the window beside it (created in the last 30 days). The list below now holds exactly that set.

  3. Work them. Open any row to follow up, quote, or close it.

  4. Clear the chip with its x to go back to the full list. The ordinary filters cannot clear it, because the slice is applied by the server.
