Set up content & policies

The Content & policies tab holds what guests are told about a property: the description, house rules, the four house policies (Pets, Smoking, Parking, Wi-Fi coverage), amenities, and the property logo. Write it once, high up - the same fields exist on the listing type and on each unit, and anything left blank falls back to the level above.

Screen /properties/<property> · Roles: Admin (read-only for other property viewers)
  1. Open the property’s Content & policies tab.

  2. Write the Description (“describe the property the way a guest should read it”) and the Important information - house notes every guest must know: quiet hours, access, deposits.

  3. Set the four policies - Pets, Smoking, Parking, Wi-Fi coverage - and optionally elect a gallery photo as the Property logo.

  4. Click Save content & policies. When channels are connected, Push to channels publishes the card to them.

Content resolves field by field: unit → listing type → property. Setting a unit’s description does not stop it inheriting the property’s parking policy - each field asks the chain separately.

  • Every field in the unit and type editors is labelled with the level that answered it (“Inherited from the property”), and an inheriting field shows the inherited text as its placeholder.
  • Clearing a field is how it inherits again. An emptied box is a real action: the level goes back to falling through.
  • Amenities follow the same rule with one difference: they inherit as a whole list, not per item. An empty list means “inherit”; ticking anything replaces the inherited list - the level then offers exactly what is ticked. Clear & inherit hands the answer back to the level above.

Content tells guests how to stay; the refund ladder tells them how cancelling works: Set the refund ladder.
