Run a promo code

A promo code is a discount a guest types on your booking site. It applies to the quotation, shows the guest what it saved them, and is printed on the PDF they receive - so a code is never a private arrangement somebody has to remember.

1. Open /site and go to the Promo codes tab.

2. Add a code. Guests type it, so keep it short and unambiguous.

3. Choose the kind: percent off or a fixed amount in your workspace currency.

4. Set a cap on how many times it may be redeemed, if the campaign has one.

5. Save. The row from then on shows its redemption count.

Editing a live code never restates a discount already given

Every redeemed booking carries its own snapshot of what it was given. Changing a percentage, or lowering a cap, affects future redemptions only - what you already invoiced stays what you invoiced. This is the first thing to know before touching a code that is out in the world.

A spent cap fails silently to the guest

A code whose cap is exhausted simply stops applying. When a guest reports that “the code does not work”, read the redemption count on this tab first: the usual answer is that the campaign is finished, not that the guest mistyped it.

Where a code shows up

• On the booking site, applied on the quotation with the saving stated.
• On the PDF quotation, which prints the code and what it saved.
• On the booking, as part of the priced quote - not as a note somebody has to honour.

Using a code on a chat-negotiated stay
