Decline, reject, or close an inquiry

Not every inquiry becomes a booking, and a funnel full of dead conversations hides the live ones. Three exits live on the inquiry’s detail page; each records why the inquiry ended, which keeps your funnel numbers honest.

Screen /inquiries · Roles: Admin, Point of Contact, Booking Manager, Airbnb Manager · “Cancel and release”: Account Manager
Action Use when Resulting status
Reject You are saying no - policy, dates you will not sell, a flagged guest Rejected
Guest declined The guest walked away - went quiet, chose elsewhere Guest declined
Cancel and release The inquiry is locked but the claimed money never arrived Rejected, hold released
  1. Open the inquiry from the funnel list.

  2. For a no from your side, press Reject. The dialog confirms: “This ends the inquiry as rejected by policy, it leaves the funnel and can’t be resumed.”

  3. For a no from the guest, press Guest declined - “Record a guest decline?” ends it as cancelled by the guest.

  4. For a locked inquiry whose payment never landed, press Cancel and release. The claimed payment is rejected on the record, the held nights go straight back on sale, and the inquiry ends as rejected. This one is an Account Manager action - it refuses a money claim and frees inventory.
