Connect a smart lock

With a smart lock connected, a unit no longer needs one standing guest code. Stay n Host puts a fresh code on the lock for every stay, valid from check-in to check-out, and takes it off again afterwards. The guest still receives it only through the dual gate: payment verified and ID verified, checked at the moment the code is released.

Screens /lock-codes, the listing’s Access codes tab, the booking’s Access codes panel · Roles: Property Manager and Airbnb Manager connect accounts and map locks, from a seat that covers the whole workspace; the guest hand-off belongs to the Point of Contact

TTLock and Nuki are live, and the smart-lock integration is included on every plan: there is no add-on to buy and no charge per lock.

  • TTLock: a lock with a gateway (codes are added through it), your TTLock app login, and the client ID and client secret of an app on the TTLock open platform.
  • Nuki: a Smart Lock with a Nuki Keypad, and an API token created in Nuki Web under API.

Your password is used once to connect and is never stored. Stay n Host keeps only the access token the lock service returns, encrypted.

  1. Open Operations → Lock Codes (/lock-codes) and find Smart lock accounts.

  2. Under Connect an account, choose the Lock brand (TTLock or Nuki), give the account a name (for example the building), and fill in the login details.

  3. Press Connect. The account appears in the list as Connected. If the lock service refuses the login, you see why and nothing is saved.

If an account later shows Needs reconnecting (a changed password or a revoked token), press Reconnect and enter the new login. Its mapped locks and the codes already on them stay as they are. An account can be disconnected only once none of its locks is mapped and the codes it put on locks have come off.

A seat limited to some properties can unmap its own units’ locks but cannot connect accounts or map locks: an account reaches every lock on it, including other properties’ doors.

  1. Open the unit (listing) and its Access codes tab. Under Smart lock, pick the Account; its locks load from the lock service.

  2. Pick the Lock for the Unit door. For TTLock you can choose the code length (4 to 9 digits); Nuki codes are always 6 digits.

  3. Press Map lock. The unit switches to Per-stay codes and shows the lock’s battery. A battery under 25% shows as Battery low.

  4. Optionally map a Shared front door (optional) too. The same code then opens both doors. A front door can serve several units; a unit door belongs to one unit only.

To go back to standing codes, press Unmap. With no lock left, the unit uses the static codes set above it again, and any code already on the lock is taken off.

  • Up to 72 hours before check-in, Stay n Host puts the stay’s code on the lock, valid from the check-in time to the check-out time in your workspace’s time zone.
  • Dates change: the code’s window moves with them.
  • The guest moves to another unit: the code comes off the old lock and goes on the new one, unchanged, so a guest who already has it keeps it.
  • Cancelled, no-show, or checked out: the code comes off the lock.
  • The lock or its gateway is offline: the booking’s Access codes panel says so, and Stay n Host retries every few minutes.

The booking’s Access codes panel shows Code on the smart lock with each door’s status and validity window. The code itself is revealed only through Reveal code, to a person, behind the dual gate, exactly as for a standing code. An agent rule that sends door codes before check-in uses the same per-stay code, and holds the send until it is on the lock.
