Check a guest out
Check-out marks the stay complete and hands the unit to the turnover machine. The action lives in the same Stay panel on the booking’s Overview tab that check-in does.
-
Open the booking and press Check out guest - available any time after the stay has started, including early and late departures.
-
Confirm the dialog. “Check this guest out?” shows the same guest facts the check-in dialog does; the confirm button is Yes, check out {name}.
-
Leaving early? If today is before the booked check-out date, the dialog adds “The guest is leaving early” and asks how to settle the money paid for the unused nights: Keep all (no refund), Cancellation fee (keep a fee, refund the rest), or Refund all. The freed nights go back on sale immediately.
-
Done. The status flips to Checked out, the move lands on the History tab, and the booking moves to Past Stays.
What firing the turnover means
Section titled “What firing the turnover means”Checking out is not just a status change. In the same moment:
- The unit flips to “dirty” - it will not be sellable as ready until it is cleaned and cleared.
- An inspection round opens automatically, waiting for a verdict on the Housekeeping board.
- The turnover cleaning is dispatched from Housekeeping - a same-day back-to-back arrival makes the task urgent with a deadline before the next check-in.
Everything that happens next - the cleaning chain, inspection rounds, and any damage reports - is recorded on the booking’s Turnover tab, each row linking to its own housekeeping page. Damage found at departure is captured on the Condition tab.
